One look out of the window in recent weeks and you’d be forgiven for thinking that spring and the warmer weather which usually accompanies it is but a pipe dream. We’ve got good news, though – it is very much on the way, and offers a great excuse to freshen up your home decor.

Spring is a wonderful time of year and the way in which it revitalises our surroundings can present some fantastic inspiration for the home.

In this post, we’ve got some fab decor ideas which will spruce up your house just in time for the spring.

Decal that accent wall

Wallpapering can be time consuming, and, as a result, somewhat permanent feeling should you get it wrong. This spring, why not try decals instead, which can usually be applied far more easily than wallpaper and offer a far more interesting outcome?

Turn your bathroom into a garden oasis

Bear with us on this. The arrival of warmer weather almost certainly means you’ll be spending a lot of time in the garden, but why leave it there? By investing in murals that depict an outside space, you can transform any room in the most inventive of ways.

Jump on the indoor tree bandwagon – without the tree

Indoor trees are fashionable, and will look great come the spring, but they’re a bit of a faff, and you can achieve an admirably similar result by instead arranging blossoming branches into a vase. Place the vase on something relatively tall (a thin book case, for example), and you’ll instantly create the height and illusion of a tree.

Invest in new bedding

If there’s one piece of home decor that often gets overlooked, it is the bedding. By simply switching out your existing sheets, duvet and pillow cases, you can create a spring-fresh feel in any bedroom and for a fairly modest outlay.

Use pastel accents

The word ‘pastel’ may sound a bit childish, but by adding pastel accents to your living room, for example, you’ll add a touch of sophistication and brighten up the space with a seasonally-appropriate look and feel.

Bin the dark, heavy curtains

If your curtains represent something from Darth Vader’s lair, it’s time to switch them for something more light and airy. Pale curtains can brighten any room and by adding some floral decal into the mix, you’ll feel as though spring has instantly sprung.

Take the indoor, outdoor

Outdoor fireplaces are becoming more and more popular. With spring on the way, you can prepare for longer evenings outside with a welcome touch of heat (and style, of course) by adding an outdoor fireplace to your patio area.

Floral, floral, floral

If there’s one word you’ll hear mentioned an awful lot when it comes to spring interior design, it is ‘floral’. Fill your house with floral touches to feel at one with nature during this special time of year. Blossoming rugs, wall decals and ivory floral lampshades work perfectly.
