Are you about to drag out the same, tired Christmas decorations, just like you have done for the past ten years? Well – STOP!
It really is surprisingly cheap to update your Christmas decorations. In 2015 especially, there are a lot of exciting and interesting decoration choices making waves this Christmas season. We’ve looked far and wide for the most consistent trends, and we are now passing them o nto you. We’re of course focussing on the fireplace, but these trends hold true for your whole home.
Little DIY trees
These could be an ideal replacement for your worn out singing Santa. Two small DIY trees either side of the fireplace can really make it stand out. If you are worried about the trees catching fire, either space them far enough away that they are no longer a hazard, or build them from flame resistant materials!
Outdoors
In relation to the fireplace, this opens up a lot of avenues for you to explore. One hot item to look into is a bare branch with fairy lights wrapped around it. These are prominent in quite a few style guides we’ve seen, and if secured to your mantelpiece, they can really frame your fireplace.
Animals
Reindeer not tickling your fancy? Then at least stick with arctic animals such as polar bears, penguins, puffins or narwhals.
White
As far as colour choices go, your options are as follows: white. And that is all. Blanket white is the only colour that has any staying power this year, and it doesn’t even come with a contrasting colours – it is white on white on white. Luckily, this means no need to sweat over colour co-ordination, and the neutrality of your new all-white decorations means that you can reuse them for years to come.
